Reading Through the Book of Isaiah – Day 3

Tell the righteous it will be well with them,
    for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.
Woe to the wicked!
    Disaster is upon them!
They will be paid back
    for what their hands have done.

Youths oppress my people,
    women rule over them.
My people, your guides lead you astray;
    they turn you from the path. Isaiah 3:10-12

Reaping what we sow is one truth that just keeps on giving!!  Reaping what we sow is what I read in this verse.

I have been on the receiving end of this saying more times than I care to count.  I have begun looking at it though, not as a punishment, but as a gift from God.  Because when I reap what I sow, I begin to see things with the eyes of others.

And isn’t that what God wants from us, to selflessly look at things from someone else’s perspective…rather than constantly only seeing things with a selfish mindset.  When we follow His teaching, then we are to put others before ourselves.

I believe that this type of thinking will remove the need for reconciliation in my relationships and will help me to reconcile with others.  I need to humble myself and remove the negative thoughts from my mind.

In reading Isaiah 4 I found a promise…one that I will cling to with faith and hope.

A Promise of Restoration

But in that day, the branch of the Lord
    will be beautiful and glorious;
the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory
    of all who survive in Israel.
All who remain in Zion
    will be a holy people—
those who survive the destruction of Jerusalem
    and are recorded among the living.
The Lord will wash the filth from beautiful Zion
    and cleanse Jerusalem of its bloodstains
    with the hot breath of fiery judgment.
Then the Lord will provide shade for Mount Zion
    and all who assemble there.
He will provide a canopy of cloud during the day
    and smoke and flaming fire at night,
    covering the glorious land.
It will be a shelter from daytime heat
    and a hiding place from storms and rain.

Oh, Glorious Day, indeed!!!

I am going to leave you with this song…Glorious Day!!! Raise your hands in praise to our Lord and use this as a prayer this morning.  Sing along, I am!!!

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
