Pause to Remember What is Important

I am quite excited about the challenge for the months of January and February.  I don’t believe I have been this sure of God’s call on my life in quite some time.  I am also seeing my One Word Resolution, reconciliation, in a bit of a different light today, than I did yesterday.

During the message at church this morning it was made quite clear to me that I can only reconcile my days and my relationships with God, it is up to Him to help others that I love to  reconcile their relationship to Him.  Once they are reconciled to Him, their relationships with others will improve and become easier.

My job is to pray and remember to pause to remember what is important.  Which brings me back to the sermon from this morning…Matthew 6:33 was the verse of the day.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

I am to pause and remember to seek God FIRST, before I go seeking after anything else. I need to set aside time each morning to spend time with God in prayer, in His word, and in praise and worship.  These things will make my days better and they will help me to handle anything that might come my way.

Join me as we begin this new year by reading Isaiah 1 in our Bibles, pause before reading and ask God to be with you as you read.  Seek Him first and He will add many things to your life.

Heavenly Father, shine the pure light of Your Word of truth into our hearts today and open the eyes of our minds to comprehend the nuggets of truth that are contained within this precious passage of Scripture. Amen

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
