Lent – Day 1
I decided to write out the verses and then get ready for my day. I needed some groceries, healthy groceries. Part of the next 40 days is going to include a healthier lifestyle for me. I want to get to the point where I don’t have to write that sentence ever again! I know the only way that will work is if my heart and mind are focused on God.I almost sabotaged myself in the first 15 minutes in the grocery store. I walked by the bakery and there on a display table were the most decadent chocolate brownies I had ever seen. I wanted them and I had convinced myself that I could buy them and eat them. No harm, no foul! Right?
God placed someone in my path to remind me of what He wants for my life. He reminded me of what this next 40 days is all about. As I was circling the brownie table looking for the perfect batch, I almost ran smack into another lady. This other lady had ashes on her forehead, imagine me mentally smacking my hand to my forehead.
Jesus told His disciples in our verses today that after the Passover the Son of Man was going to be handed over to be crucified. He knew He was going to die and He knew why! For your sins and mine! Jesus knew every sin you and I would commit and He still died for us. I think that I need to remember what He went through to give me eternal life and I know that there is no brownie worth His sacrifice.
Thank You Jesus for saving my life!
