The Tuesday reading in our book is focusing on the ordinary basket that Jochabed placed Moses in, to keep him safe, as he floated down the Nile river. This basket became extraordinary through the anointing that God placed upon it, not only did it keep Moses safe from crocodiles, it gently cradled him and carried him to his destiny.
This is how God has always worked…He will take ordinary people and ordinary things and make some extraordinary things happen in this world. This is how we know that it is God at work in our lives…through the amazing things that He has done and He will continue to do.
I can see His extraordinary every time I open my Bible.
I see His extraordinary when I look at this beautiful world that He has created.
I can see His extraordinary every time I look at my children…I can still remember the very first time I looked into their eyes and saw the hand of God in their tiny little faces.
I can see His extraordinary every time I look at my grandchildren.
I can see His extraordinary every day within my marriage…the fact that I have almost been married 35 years is extraordinary. 🙂
I can see His extraordinary when I stop and consider the friendships He has allowed me to make over the years and especially when I consider all the people I have become friends with over the last several years that I have never met face to face.
I can see His extraordinary when I allow myself to…it has to be intentional and it always requires faith and focusing on the belief that only God can take the ordinary and make it extraordinary.
“And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.” Luke 5:26
