23 By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. Hebrews 11:23

Now that you have finished reading the story in your bible, click on the link below to read how our authors are sharing the story of Jochabed and Pharaoh’s daughter.

God used two women to give life to Moses; the first one to birth him and keep him safe for the first 3 months of his life and the second one to continue to let him grow into manhood and keep him safe from a death that her own father had decreed.

Both women took risks to keep Moses alive, Jochabed acted from a heart that loved and feared the Lord and Pharaoh’s daughter acted from a heart that had been softened by God, so that she would fall in love with the baby at first sight. This story is proving to me that God will use all people; those who know and follow Him obediently and those who do not have a personal relationship with Him…to bring about His plan for the world.

For thousands and thousands of years God has been mapping out the lives of His people and makes all things fall into place for results that He has ordained since the beginning of time.

It was no coincidence that Pharaoh’s daughter was at the river bank at the exact moment that Moses came floating down the river in his basket…it was God!

It was no coincidence that Miriam kept her eye on Moses as he floated down the river…it was God!

It was no coincidence that Miriam was brave enough to approach Pharaoh’s daughter and suggest a nursemaid for the baby…it was God!

It was no coincidence that Pharaoh’s daughter agreed to Miriam’s suggestion which allowed Jochabed to continue to care for and feed her son…it was God!

Nothing in this world is a coincidence…not when it comes to God!  He works all things together for the good of His people and that is something that should give us confidence each day.  God is working behind the scenes to bring about His perfect will for our lives and, even if we mess up, He can take our mess and make it into a message for His honor and glory.

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
