Mid-Week Focus

e5a82fdae639a63df8039d3effd058cf

This morning as I was getting ready for the day, there were many thoughts going through my mind.  I was thinking about today’s reading in WOBS along with some other things.  At one point in my racing brain this thought took control of my mind, “Each of us is born with a set of strengths and weaknesses.  God brings others into our lives to build us up where we are weak and for us to use our strengths to build them up in the areas where they are weak.  We are on this earth to compliment and challenge each other to be better.  We are not here to complicate each others lives or to complete each other…only God is able to bring us to completion, through His Son, Jesus.”

So this is where my focus has been today.  Just thought I would share what has been on my mind.  Along with some Bible verses I found to support what I am focusing on.

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

“What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.” 1 Corinthians 14:26

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,” Ephesians 4:11-16

“For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;…” Colossians 2:9-11

“God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.” 1 Corinthians 1:30

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
