Many Strands Challenge ~ Seeking God’s Wisdom for 2104 ~ Day 77

Seeking God's Wisdom - Day 77

I pray, that all who have participated, fully, in the current challenge offered on this page, that you have received some revelations from your readings that will help you move forward into 2014 with wisdom and discernment.

And…speaking of revelations, today we  begin reading through the last book of the Bible; the book of Revelation.

I would like to encourage all those who read this page to join us, as we finish strong, through the book of Revelation. This is going to be our schedule of reading assignments through the last days of this challenge.

December 17th ~ Revelation 1 – 3

December 18th ~ Revelation 4 – 5

December 19th ~ Revelation 6 – 7

December 20th ~ Revelation 8 – 10

December 21st ~ Revelation 11 – 13

December 22nd ~ Revelation 14 – 15

December 23rd ~ Revelation 16 – 18

December 24th ~ No Assignment

December 25th ~ No Assignment

December 26th ~ Revelation 19 – 20

December 27th ~ Revelation 21 – 22

There will be one last assignment, after the 27th, that I will share with you all, at that time.  I am hoping that many of you will join with us through this most important book in our Bibles. And now onto today’s assignment.

Today’s Assignment ~ Make sure that you have your prayer journal with you as you complete each day’s reading.  You are going to want to keep track of the verses that are resonating with you, as you read.

1. If you have not already done so, answer the questions in this blog-post;

If you have answered them…review your answers prior to reading today’s assignment.

2. Say a prayer asking God to reveal Himself to you through His word.

3. It is really important to gain some historical insight and knowledge regarding the book of Revelation.  It is not an easy read and I believe it will help all of us to gain a little bit of perspective on the life and times of a Christian during the time that the book of Revelation was written.  Click on the link below for your history lesson on Revelation.

4. Read Revelation 1 – 3 and as you read, highlight verses that are speaking to your heart and reflect on these questions…

• What is the main point of this portion?

• What does God – Father, Son or Holy Spirit – reveal of himself?

• What insight am I given about myself and into my life situation? Is there an example of a warning to heed? A promise to claim?

• What does Christ require of me now, in thought, word or action?

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
