Many Strands Challenge ~ Seeking God’s Wisdom for 2014 ~ Day 4

Seeking God's Wisdom - Day 4

Today’s Assignment ~ Make sure that you have your prayer journal with you as you complete each day’s reading. You are going to want to keep track of the verses that are resonating with you, as you read.

1. If you have not already done so, answer the questions in this blog-post;

https://heisourstrongtower.wordpress.com/2013/09/22/many-strands-challenge-seeking-gods-wisdom-for-2014/

If you have answered them…review your answers prior to reading today’s assignment.

2. Say a prayer asking God to reveal Himself to you through His word.

3. Read Matthew 11 ~ 14 – As you read, highlight verses that are speaking to your heart and reflect on these questions…

• What is the main point of this portion?

• What does God – Father, Son or Holy Spirit – reveal of himself?

• What insight am I given into myself and into my life situation? Is there an example of a warning to heed? A promise to claim?

• What does Christ require of me now, in thought, word or action?

A reflection on today’s reading…

25 “Jesus knew their thoughts and replied, “Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart. 26 And if Satan is casting out Satan, he is divided and fighting against himself. His own kingdom will not survive. 27 And if I am empowered by Satan, what about your own exorcists? They cast out demons, too, so they will condemn you for what you have said. 28 But if I am casting out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you. 29 For who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man like Satan and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger—someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.” Matthew 14:25-29

I do not believe that there are too many humble people sitting in the governments seats of the United States of America. If there were we would not be heading into our fourth day of the government shut down.

“Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart.”

I don’t know about you, but I do believe that we need to come to some type of consensus in this country or we are doomed!! What Jesus shared in these words from Matthew over 2000 years ago was true then and they are true now.

I don’t want to make this a political statement post; I just want to say that we need to be prepared for what comes next. I truly believe that we are in the end times and if I am correct, I need to be centered on God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. I need to be sure that, even if the world is divided, that I AM NOT. Because just as a kingdom divided by civil war is doomed…a person living a life divided is just as doomed!!

I need to be sure of what I believe and live it out in my life on a daily basis, because in the end I want the Judge to say I am guilty of being one of His children.

How about you?? Are you living a life divided or are you HOLY in the eyes of the Lord?

  1. Chapter 13 v:54-58 spoke to me while reading it tell of the how the lord was rejected by his home people after all the good work he did there. I am reminded of a time when I was rejected from my home told never to come back how I longed to hear come home you are loved it never came but because I know Jesus unconditional love I was able to show it to my father and tell him of my love for him. Thank you God for giving me your love so that I am able to share it to all Amen.

    • That must have been a very difficult time for you Patricia. God has given you a strong testimony to share with others and praising Him right now for the story you share for His glory!!!

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
