Fit for My King – Day 6 Devotional Reflection

“Give thanks unto the Lord,” Psalm 107 admonishes us, “for He is good; His love endures forever” (verse 1). If you want to feel better physically, if you want a better outlook on life, remember that verse.

Every morning when you get up, instead of fretting and complaining, instead of turning to the media to see how bad everything is, just go and look out of the window. Take a deep breath and say, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” It makes you feel better just to think of doing that, doesn’t it? How much better it will make you feel if you follow that practice every day!”

These words hit me right between the eyes this morning as I was seeking God’s will for me today.  These two small paragraphs gave me direction and guidance to walk with me through today and that is all that God asks of me; to depend on Him for what I need for just this one day in my life…and to leave the worries of tomorrow in tomorrow.

I am going to Him and seeking to touch His Spirit that resides inside of me for the strength to keep moving forward on day 6 of my fast.  I am seeking Him with an attitude of gratitude and love…because He cares about me and what I place inside of my body.

Today’s food schedule looks like this…

1 bottle of water

Breakfast – whole wheat english muffin, egg white, Canadian bacon sandwich with 1 cup skim milk

Snack –  10 – whole wheat honey butter Pringle’s snack stix

Lunch – tuna salad mixed with light mayo, Dijon mustard, 1 tsp of spicy relish and garlic powder served with two campari tomatoes. (water)

Snack – natural peanut butter and whole wheat crackers

Dinner – Tilapia, cauliflower, small salad

Today’s verse for my fast –

I will share more with you later…have to go get my four grandchildren!  Have a blessed Monday as we all give honor and glory to God for all that we do!

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
