Jesus Calling ~ April 24th

REST IN THE STILLNESS OF MY PRESENCE while I prepare you for this day. Let the radiance of My glory shine upon you, as you wait on Me in confident trust. Be still and know that I am God. There is both a passive and active side to trusting Me. As you rest in My Presence, focusing on Me, I quietly build bonds of trust between us. When you respond to the circumstances of your life with affirmations of trust, you actively participate in this process.

I am always with you, so you have no reason to be afraid. You fear often manifests itself in excessive planning. Your mind is so accustomed to this pattern of thinking that you are only now becoming aware of how pervasive it is and how much it hinders your intimacy with Me. Repent of this tendency and resist it, whenever you realize you are wandering down this well-worn path Return to My Presence, which always awaits you in the present moment. I accept you back with no condemnation.

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”

Psalm46.10

Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”

Personal Reflections…

Friends, I have been going back and rereading the posts that I shared with you all last year. Can you all spell C-O-N-V-I-C-T-I-O-N????? I am finding that I have fallen into the same trap I was walking in last year, again!!! Don’t you hate when that happens? Me too!

My mornings are to be dedicated to Him, and to Him only!

The truth of the matter is this…I am working so hard on “pleasing” people, that I have allowed my focus to move off of pleasing God. Last year God had directed me to post devotions into the groups at night and to leave my mornings for Him!  I have not been following His guidance, lately.  Never good for my spiritual life to not follow His dictates for me.

Yesterday’s Jesus Calling had some words that I need to continue to reflect on…”That is why it’s so important to seek My will in everything you do. There are many burned-out Christians who think more is always better, who deem it unspiritual to say no.”

Am I burned out and should I be saying “NO”????

I do know that I need more, but I also know that the “MORE” I need can only come from HIM! Changes are indeed going to be coming…and I pray that when the dust settles that you will all understand that it is through His will in my life!! You might just find that He is moving in me to bring some changes that are for your good too.

Dear Lord,
I come before you this morning and I ask that You move in my life. Lord, here I am empty of me and ready for You to provide direction and guidance. I want more Lord, but the more I want can only come from You. Here I am Lord…Your will be done in my life and in the lives of the women in this group. To You be the honor and the glory for all that we do and say…In Jesus Name, amen.

  1. Dear heisourstrongtower, thank you for your article. It helped me a lot. I find myself like that too. I also plan excessively, though not out of fear.

I would like to share a nugget of Grace with you that I found today.

In Romans 8:1, the last part “who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit”, is not part of the original text.

Below is the evidence to back this up:

Holman Christian Standard Bible (footnote c)
    http://biblehub.com/hcsb/romans/8.htm#ftn

English Standard Version (footnote a) (bottom of the page)
    http://biblehub.com/esv/romans/8.htm

The verse is more loving and tender when read without the last part: Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Thank you again for your post 🙂
