Jesus Calling ~ April 16th

I AM CALLING YOU to live a life of thankfulness. I want all of your moments to be punctuated with thanksgiving. The basis for your gratitude is My sovereignty. I am the Creator and the Controller of the universe. Heaven and earth are filled with My Glorious Presence.

When you criticize or complain, you are acting as if you think you could run the world better than I do. From your limited human perspective, it may look like I am mismanaging things. But you don’t know what I know or see what I see. If I pulled back the curtain to allow you to view heavenly realms, you would understand much more. However, I have designed you to live by faith and not by sight. I lovingly shield you from knowing the future or seeing into the spirit world. Acknowledge My sovereignty by giving thanks in all circumstances.

Isaiah 6:3 “And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”

2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we live by faith, not by sight.”

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

My thoughts…

Give thanks in all circumstances…give thanks in all circumstances…give thanks in all circumstances! I don’t do this. I do not give thanks in all circumstances. I do not thank God for some of the bad that has happened within our family, especially not in the middle of the difficult situation. In hindsight…I see better why certain things played out the way they did. But, normally in the midst of something that is hard and hurts…I don’t thank Him for the problem.

Sometimes there are life-long consequences for operating out of the flesh. Wake-up calls are issued by God and they can bring about some changes in the decision-making process for all of us. We need to thank Him in all circumstances…even for that time when thanking someone is the last thing you want to do…I believe that it is especially in those times that we need to make thanking Him the first priority. I am convicted today by the words in the last sentence of this devotion…my default reaction needs to be, thank Him first and then pray for the healing and His will to be revealed to all. I am going to be reflecting on this today and I am going to see where God is going to lead me. I know there is no better place to be… 🙂

Take a look at the video sent to me via Email yesterday…talk about God’s perfect timing!!!

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
