THE NEW TESTAMENT 93-DAY CHRONOLOGICAL READING PLAN – Day 31 Assignment

Moments with God

New Testament Bible Reading Plan

Day 31

I have recited aloud

all the regulations you have given us.

I have rejoiced in your laws

as much as in riches. Psalm 119:13-14

Do we know His regulations well enough to recite them aloud? Are we soaking in what we are reading or are we simply looking at the words, thinking about other things or just to say we did it?

We need to saturate ourselves in the words we are reading, we need to look at each verse like a precious jewel from God. Rejoice in what God is sharing with you and then imagine you are tucking each verse into a treasure chest as the prized possession it is!!

Let’s continue on our treasure hunt today by opening our Bibles and reading Matthew 19 and Mark 10

But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” Matthew 19:14

Bible Reading Plan Day 31A

Study Questions for Matthew 19

How did Jesus’ disciples respond to Jesus’ teaching about marriage?

What does this show about them?

What did Jesus teach about God’s different plans for different people regarding marriage? What is the difference between a Christian and a worldly view of marriage?

After the Pharisees left, who came to Jesus? Why did they come?

What can we learn from them? How did the disciples react to these people? Why did they act like this?

What did Jesus teach his disciples about how to come to him? How was this a contrast to the way the Pharisees came? How did Jesus receive the children who came? What can we learn?

Why do you think the rich young man walked away sad?

Why would it be so hard for him to sell his possessions?

In vs. 18-20 we see that he’s a good man, he doesn’t lie, cheat or

steal. So why would he be asking what else must he do?

Have you ever felt unfulfilled in your life?

Do you have anything material you are holding onto that prevents

you from following after God?

What is it worth to you to follow after God? Are you willing to go

any length to follow him?

Do you think this passage really means that you need to sell all you own to follow God?

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

Study Questions for Mark 10

In what manner must one receive the kingdom of God in order to enter in? (15)

Why did Jesus ask the rich ruler “Why do you call me good?” (18)

What did Jesus say was the danger regarding riches? (24)

What rewards are there for forsaking all for Jesus’ sake? (29-30)

What are some of the details Jesus gave concerning His suffering, death, and resurrection? (33-34)

What did Bartimaeus do when many rebuked him telling him he should hold his peace? (48)

When Jesus asked Bartimaeus “What do you want Me to do for you?” what was the reply of Bartimaeus? (51)

Food for thought…

What wonderful treasures did you collect in today’s readings?

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
