Trusting God with Your Tomorrows

I have been blessed to lead a group of women through the study of the “Trusting God” devotional book two times this year.  New and fresh insights were given to me both times, as I read the words in each of these devotions.  Healing came to me in some broken places through each group.  I think God knows that we can only face those broken places a little at a time.  I just want to urge you to pick up this book and read it…whether for the first time or the fifth time.  God will meet you inside the pages of this book and bring healing to your life and you will also be given an opportunity to lock armors with the GIG sisters as you build up your trust levels in yourself and most importantly in your God.

Trusting God – Girlfriends in God

This is my post for the 4th devotion in the 12th week of the book.

Today’s Truth:

But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that My Name might be proclaimed in all the earth.  Exodus 9:16

Girlfriend to Girlfriend:

Don’t we all have something that we feel disqualifies us…just like Gwen?  Our disqualification might now come in the same manner as hers or maybe it does, it really does not matter what, it only matters that we believe, just like she did, that we are…”disqualified-for-anything-big-because-of-what-we-have-done.”

Sister, trust me when I say that God can use you exactly for why you feel you have been disqualified.  That broken place in your life is what qualifies you to help other women.

There are women in this world who need someone who understands how it feels to be broken.  Is that you?

There are women in this world who need someone who understands those feelings of fear and shame and wanting to hide.  Is that you?

There are women in this world who need someone who can point them to the ONLY ONE who can help them.  Is that you?

There are women in this world who need someone who has felt the redeeming beauty of His forgiving, healing and merciful grace.  Is that you?

If this is you…like I know it is me then we need to pull out those “use-me-in-a-big-way-Lord” prayers, ladies.

God’s plans for our lives are BIGGER than our plans for our lives.  He never intended for anyone to be a slave to their brokenness.  He sent His Son to die on the cross to break our earthly bindings.  He died for us and we need to LIVE for Him!

I am going to issue the same challenge to you that Gwen shared in today’s devotion.

“What fresh and fiery mission is God calling you to trust Him with, friend?  Let me encourage you to stop with the excuses (and justifications).  I am living proof (and so are you) that God will free anyone from her shame and He can use anyone (that means you and me) for His purpose.  Step up to the burning bush – into God’s Presence.  Listen to His voice.  Obey.  Follow.  Take courage.  Trust Him with your past and with your tomorrow’s.”

He has raised us up for this fresh and fiery mission.  He has raised us up for this very purpose because it is through our brokenness and restoration that the power of His might is going to shine and we will be proclaiming His Name throughout the earth. (Exodus 9:16)

Let’s Pray:

Gracious God,

Thank you that you don’t waste anything.

Thank you for seeing us as diamonds in rough

When we see ourselves as useless, broken cast-aways.

Fill us with your Spirit.

Use us to create beauty for you.

Glue us together for your glory.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
