WHENEVER YOU FEEL DISTANT from Me, whisper My name in loving trust. This simple prayer can restore your awareness of My Presence.
My Name is constantly abused in the world where people use it as a curse word. This verbal assault reaches all the way to heave; every word is heard and recorded. When you trustingly whisper My Name, My aching ears are soothed. The grating rancor of the world’s blasphemies cannot compete with a trusting child’s utterance: “Jesus.” The power of My Name to bless both you and Me is beyond your understanding.
Acts 4:12 – Nor is their salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
John 16:24 – Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
Jesus Calling for Kids – July 12th
My Name is constantly abused in this world. Some people use it carelessly, without realizing they are talking about the Lord of lords. Other people use it as a curse word, which is an attack on who I am. Every time My Name is used, it is recorded in heaven.
So when you say My Name in prayer, when you call out My Name in praise, and when you whisper My Name in trust, My aching heart is soothed. All the curses in the world are drowned out by your loving whisper: “Jesus.” When you speak My Name in these ways, both you and I are blessed.
I was feeling distant from God right before I opened Jesus Calling and read this devotion…I was trying to work on an assignment in another group and I was getting nothing. I read the devotion in the book and attempted to see where the spirit was going to lead me…random thoughts were going through my mind, but there was nothing concrete that I felt I was supposed to share within the group.
I don’t like when I feel distant from God, but He has proven to me over and over again that I just need to trust Him to provide the answers to all my needs. I need to remove all the distractions and Praise Him and Thank Him. I need to speak His name with all the love I have for Him inside Me, and then Be Still in His Presence and wait!! Wait for His timing…wait for His revelation…wait for Him to guide and direct me to His perfect will for me.
The wonderful thing that happens when I spend this time with Him; not only do I soothe His heart…He soothes mine. He reminds me that I am not alone…and all that I do, I do for an audience of One.
