Jesus Calling – June 21st

“WAIT PATIENTLY WITH ME while I bless you.  Don’t rush into My Presence with time-consciousness gnawing at your mind.  I dwell in timelessness: I am, I was, I will always be.  For you, time is a protection; you’re a frail creature who can handle only twenty-four-hour segments of life.  Time can also be a tyrant, ticking away relentlessly in your mind.  Learn to master time, or it will be your master.

Though you are a time-bound creature, seek to meet Me in timelessness.  As you focus on My Presence, the demands of time and tasks will diminish.  I will bless you and keep you, making My face shine upon you graciously, giving you Peace.”

Micah 7:7 – But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

Revelation 1:8 – “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Numbers 6:24-26 – “‘“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’

I Am Timeless

“My idea of time is very different from yours, because I am timeless – beyond time.  I am.  I was.  And I will always be.

Time is a protection for you.  One twenty-four-hour day of life is enough for you to handle.  But time can also become your master – making you its slave – if you think about it too much.

Wait with Me while I bless you.  Don’t think about where you have to be an hour from now.  Don’t worry about what you need to get done.  Take off your watch and just sit with Me, enjoying My Presence, time will become less and less important.  And I will become more and more important to you.”

A couple of things jumped out at me from this devotion.  The sentence that refers to us as frail creatures…I can totally relate to that because I was feeling frail and weak today.  I could sit here and list all my ailments, but that is not going to get me anywhere except feeling sorry for myself.  I am refusing to throw any pity parties for myself and I am going to power through this relying on Him to be my strength.  I can do all things through Him, the source of my strength.

I also liked this, “Take off your watch and just sit with Me.”  I have not worn a watch in almost 2 years.  I took mine off when I started watching Sylas over a year ago, because I was concerned that my jewelry could scratch him.  I do not miss wearing my watch and it does give me a sense of freedom to not be constantly looking at my wrist all the time, which is what I used to do when I wore a watch.  I think we could take this a bit further and say turn off your cell phone too.  I feel I am more a slave to my cell phone than to anything else.  My cell phone is my life-line to my children.  I have been known to hyper-ventilate when I have forgotten to bring it with me.  The last time I forgot my phone I decided to take it as a message from God that I did not need it and I allowed myself to relax and enjoy the time I spent without it.

We need to spend some time with God without those outside disturbances…we need to block out what time it is, block out who might be calling us…block out who might be texting us…block out who might be emailing us…block out who might be commenting to our last post…block out who “liked” what we said or posted to facebook…block out anything and everything that interferes with our quiet time with the Lord.  Give Him your full attention when You are spending time with Him…look into His beautiful face, give Him your undivided attention and “watch” for the many blessings that will flow into your life.  Make time for God because He cares about every second of your life!!!

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
