Jesus Calling June 12th

“LET ME HELP YOU get through this day. There are many possible paths to travel between getting up in the morning and your lying down at night. Stay alert to the many choice-points along the way, being continually aware of My Presence. You will get through this day one way or another. One way is to moan and groan, stumbling along with shuffling feet. This will get you to the end of the day eventually, but there is a better way. You can choose to walk with Me along the path of Peace, leaning on Me as much as you need. There will still be difficulties along the way, but you can face them confidently in My strength. Thank Me for each problem you encounter, and watch to see how I transform trials into blessings.”

1 Corinthians 10:10 – And do not grumble, as some of them did —and were killed by the destroying angel.

Luke 1:79 – to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

A Day that Is Just Right

“When you get up in the morning, you get to decide what kind of day you will have. I don’t mean that you can decide you are going to have a completely problem-free day, a Saturday, or even a snow day. I mean that you choose how you will view this day. And there are really only two choices: to complain about everything you don’t like, or to stay close to Me – so you can see things My way.

You can choose to see the rain, or the rainbow. You can choose to see a mountain of homework, or the chance to learn something new. You can resent your parents for not letting you go to that movie, or be grateful that someone cares enough to say no sometimes.

You can choose to see everything that is wrong, or you can choose to see Me. If you choose Me, I’ll show you how all those wrongs can turn into a day that is just right.”

What are you focusing on? That is what I was hearing as I read this devotion. How am I looking at the situation? Whose perspective am I using…am I looking at the world with my eyes or am I looking at the world with His eyes?

I wear glasses, so I already know my eyesight is faulty. I better not even attempt to look at the people or situations in my life with my less than 20/20 vision. God sees the whole picture…He sees the workings inside of every person and every situation. I am not God, so I don’t know or see things the way He does…unless I ask Him to let me see with His eyes. When He places His super upon my less than natural eyesight…He allows me to change my perspective and look at things through His Loving, Compassionate and Forgiving eyes!

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
