Jesus Calling June 7th

“I AM ALL AROUND YOU, like a cocoon of Light. My Presence with you is a promise, independent of your awareness of Me. Many things can block this awareness, but the major culprit is worry. My children tend to accept worry as an inescapable fact of life. However, worry is a form of unbelief; it is anathema to Me.

Who is in charge of your life? If it is you, then you have good reason to worry. But if it is I, then worry is both unnecessary and counterproductive. When you start to feel anxious about something, relinquish the situation to Me. Back off a bit, redirecting your focus to Me. I will either take care of the problem Myself or show you how to handle it. In this world you will have problems, but you need not to lose sight of Me.”

Luke 12:22–31 –

John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

I Am Enough!

“I am all around you. Even when you don’t notice Me, I am here.

You may not notice Me because your mind is tied up with other things. Like worry. A lot of people believe that worry is just a part of life. But they are wrong. Worry is actually a kind of unbelief. Worry says that you don’t believe I am big enough to take care of whatever it is that upsets you so much. Worrying says you think I need your help.

Wrong! I am big enough. I am strong enough. I love you enough. Bring your problems to Me. You can TRUST Me to take care of you – and whatever you are worrying about.”

The devotion for today reminded me of a chapter in the book some of us did through P31 called “A Confident Heart.” After the night I spent last night (son was out very late and this momma set to worrying) and then reading this devotion today…I am going back and rereading Chapter 9; “When Doubt Whispers “I Can’t Stop Worrying.”
Okay, I am back and I did just that. I went back and read that chapter again because…”Hi, my name is Patti and I am a recovering worrier.” I can still fall back into the old habit of worry, especially when I am only LISTING my worries during my quiet time and not LISTENING for His solutions.

If you have this book, I highly recommend that you go get it out and read Chapter 9 again too. God brought me new information and a fresh perspective as I read, AND…drum roll, He included “trust” and “sovereign” in the words He gave Renee to share with us. He also reminded me to go back and read what I wrote the first time I read this chapter back in 2011. I will admit to being very happy that I did because He gave me a prayer at that time and I want to share it with all of you.

Lord Jesus, please forgive me for those times that I have allowed worry to rule my life. When I worry I am displaying a lack of faith and it is not possible to please you without faith. Father, please forgive me for living from a worldly perspective rather than Your eternal perspective.

I will take my burdens off of my shoulders and place them into Your capable hands. I will cast all of my care onto You because You care for me.

Father, in the name of Jesus I bind my anxious thoughts out of my life. I make every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. And in its place I loose the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, which would guard my heart and mind through Christ Jesus (Phil 4:7).

Father, you promise to keep me in perfect peace, if I keep my mind on you, and if I TRUST in you. I make this my declaration: I will fix all my thoughts on You because I do TRUST in You. I have faith that you can move the mountains. Thank you for being my King of Kings and my Lord of Lords.

In Jesus Name, Amen

Oaks Of Righteousness

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
