Jesus Calling May 15th

SPENDING TIME alone with Me is essential for your well-being. It is not a luxury or an option; it is a necessity. Therefore, do not feel guilty about taking time to be with Me. Remember that satan is the accuser of believers. He delights in heaping guilt feelings upon you, especially when you are enjoying My Presence. When you feel satan’s arrows of accusation, you are probably on the right track. Use your shield of faith to protect yourself from him. Talk with Me about what you are experiencing, and ask Me to show you the way forward. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to Me and I will come near to you.

Revelation 12:10 “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

“Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.”

Ephesians 6:16 “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”

James 4: 7-8 “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

Take Up Your Shield

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. – Ephesian 6:16

There is a battle going on every day – a battle for your mind. And satan has an unlimited supply of arrows. His arrows are the lies that he whispers to you trying to weaken your faith. His arrows say, “No one loves you,” “Even Jesus wouldn’t forgive that,” “There’s no hope for you,” “You are so worthless,”…lie after lie after lie.

Protect yourself with your shield of faith. When you feel the sting of one of satan’s lies, come to Me and hear My truth. The truth is, I love you so much that I died for you. There is nothing you can do that I won’t forgive. In Me, there is always hope. And you are My own special creation, always precious to Me.

Take up your shield of faith. Stand up to the devil, and he will run away from you. Come close to Me, and I will come close to you.

James 4:7-8 “So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field.”

Revelation 12:10 “…the one called Devil and Satan, the one who led the whole earth astray—thrown out, and all his Angels thrown out with him, thrown down to earth. Then I heard a strong voice out of Heaven saying,

“Salvation and power are established! Kingdom of our God, authority of his Messiah! The Accuser of our brothers and sisters thrown out, who accused them day and night before God.”

My Reflections….

Can I just be a kid again? I love the way she shares this truth in the kid’s version for today. Really…isn’t this how we hear the devil speak too? Isn’t he using these same statements in our heads? We do need to put on our shield of faith and we have to be very discerning about who we allow to fill our minds and whose words we write on our hearts. I have no doubt that the words in the Jesus Calling devotions are straight from God. Sarah speaks truth from the word of God. I am so glad that God directed me to purchase the devotion for kids…it truly was a gift from Him for me on Mother’s Day!

God also gave me another gift today. He got me motivated to get my rear in gear through the inspiration of Mary Lynn. I have been walking off and on…mostly off, but today I decided enough was enough and so I walked today for 30 minutes. I am going to increase that time by 5 minutes each day until I am up to one hour of walking. I am calling this hour my prayer walk…it is a necessity for me; mind, body and soul. I will be walking during the early evening, around 5:00 CST., each day. If there is something you need prayer about…I will be happy to pray for you during my walk. So send me your requests…someone has offered to pray for me and so I am going to pay it forward and will be happy to pray for you. ♥ ♥ ♥

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; and to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory.
