1 Thessalonians 5:15-18, “See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Proverbs 3:6, “In all your ways acknowledge Him; And He shall direct your paths.”
We are going to start “Boot Camp” today. I can hear you all now…What???? No, don’t worry I am not talking about exercising…this is going to be “Boot Camp” for your mind. I want you to be intentional in recognizing those times when you go to the Lord in prayer. We are supposed to be in constant communication with Him but, I know for me this is not always true. I lose my cell phone or I get a flat tire or one of adult children call me with a problem and I am taken out of my peace for a bit. I do not always default to prayer at those times…I default to how do I fix this and help.
I found myself yesterday talking quite a bit about God to the people I interacted with, since there is something going on, right now, in our family I was on the phone and talking in person with many relatives. This was a good thing for me because I started training my mind to match the words I was sharing with others and to be honest it was almost an “out of body” experience. It was like I was watching myself or monitoring myself from a different perspective. I could hear myself saying, “Here is a moment for prayer.” “This is a good time to praise God for His grace and His mercy.” “This person needs you to say a prayer for them right now.”
So let’s begin the training of our minds… “Spiritual Boot Camp” recognize the One who is guiding you throughout your day and acknowledge His guidance and act upon it.
